Deets: Hudson River Community Sailing (HRCS) will host its 16th annual Dark ‘n’ Stormy fundraising event at The Frying Pan in New York City on Monday, May 15 at 7PM.
The event will feature live music and dancing with the band MEN or MYTH, food and drinks, and exciting raffle prizes. All proceeds will support HRCS’s Youth Development and Adaptive programs. The Adaptive Sailing program, launched in 2021, provides sailing education and recreation for youth and adults living with disabilities.
HRCS, a 501(c)3 charitable organization founded in 2008, develops leadership and academic success for New York City public school students and provides maritime education and recreation to the community at large. HRCS partners with New York City public schools to offer credit-bearing after school programming, internships, mentoring, and college readiness. The organization allows students to expand their academic knowledge and gain essential characteristics necessary for future college and career success through sailing, boat operation, and boat building. HRCS also serves the broader community through affordable marine education and recreation for individuals, groups, schools, businesses, and families.
