Deets:
Union Square Partnership (USP), in collaboration with the New York City Department of Transportation’s Art Program (NYC DOT Art), unveiled Union Square’s latest public art, Love Continuum. An interactive sculpture by multimedia artist Yoni Alter in association with Artmax/Andrew Logan Projects, Love Continuum captures the spirit of humanity’s most universal emotion and invites visitors to explore different perspectives of the word “love.” The whimsical sculpture arrives in Union Square on Feb. 20, 2025 and will be viewable at University Place Plaza between 13th and 14th Streets through August 2025.

Alter is known for his colorful, out-of-the-box ideas that add a sense of joy and play with scale. Guided by experimentation and semiotics, Alter passionately seeks new ways of creating visual representations, working across sculpture, painting, print, and digital media. The installation is produced by Artmax/Andrew Logan Projects, a Brooklyn-based gallery owner and industry expert in fine art and architectural installation. Together with Artmax/Andrew Logan Projects, Alter brings his artistic vision to Union Square, in the heart of New York City.

Love Continuum stretches nearly 25 feet long and features a dynamic, bold design that beckons viewers of all ages to engage with the sculpture and discover its hidden message. Only from a distinct vantage point does Love Continuum’s bright color and abstract squiggly line reveal the word “love,” symbolizing how love can take on many shapes and forms depending on how one looks at it. And the physical sculpture isn’t the only presence that Love Continuum will have in the neighborhood. Community partners are teaming up with Alter to enliven the art throughout Union Square–thematic, limited-edition cookies adorned with the sculpture’s design, will be available at Newsbar beginning on February 24; disposable cups featuring Love Continuum will also be available at the cafe as of early March. Starting March 15, with support from Gordon Property Group, Alter will showcase an alternative version of Love Continuum in the storefront window at 860 Broadway. This location, once home to Andy Warhol’s Factory in the 1970s, holds special significance for Alter, as Warhol is one of his favorite artists.

March 10 / Satisfied
April 28 / West Side Story
May 5 / TBA
June 2 / One Night in Miami
September 7 / TBA

Deets: The United Palace is celebrating Hamilton’s 10th anniversary with free screenings of cast-led films, followed by exclusive talks with Lin-Manuel Miranda and members of the Original Broadway Cast.

History
The ornate United Palace opened in 1930 as the Loew’s 175th Street Theatre, a deluxe movie theatre and vaudeville house, the last of the five Wonder Theatres in New York City and New Jersey. Its first act as a movie theatre ended in April 1969 with a screening of “2001: A Space Odyssey.”

With a groundswell of community support and our good friend, patron, and neighbor Lin-Manuel Miranda, movies returned to the United Palace in 2013. Since then we have screened over 100 feature films, from world premieres (“In the Heights” and “Halftime” as part of the Tribeca Festival) to all-time classics (“It’s A Wonderful Life”), to community favorites (the documentary “Mad Hot Ballroom” about local school children winning a citywide dance contest).

We honor the theatre’s original use as a vaudeville house and movie palace by curating screenings of classic movies with live entertainment thematically linked to the film, such as mini concerts, dance performances, fashion shows, or speakers. UPCA partners with Lin-Manuel and his family for many of these screenings, inviting special guests such as Rita Moreno (“West Side Story”), Steven Spielberg (“Raiders of the Lost Ark”), Spike Lee (“Do the Right Thing”), and Hugh Jackman (“The Greatest Showman”).

Our goal is to have the cinematic experience come alive for audiences too used to watching movies on their phones or TVs.

One of our highest compliments came from Robert DeNiro who, speaking before a 50th anniversary screening of “The Godfather,” described watching a movie at the United Palace as: “The moviegoing experience doesn’t get any better.”

Based on Hulu’s acclaimed and Emmy® Award-winning show, which is returning for its sixth and final season this spring, the exhibit will run at The Paley Museum located at 25 West 52 Street starting Friday, April 4 through Sunday, June 8.

Since its 2017 premiere, The Handmaid’s Tale has captivated audiences with its gripping, thought-provoking storytelling. Based on Margaret Atwood’s groundbreaking novel, the series follows June Osborn, a woman forced to struggle and survive in Gilead, a terrifying and totalitarian society that was once the United States. Now as the series concludes its stellar six-season run, visitors can explore the universe of Gilead, where every artifact tells a story of resistance, power, and survival, as the final season premieres on Hulu Tuesday, April 8.

The Legacy of The Handmaid’s Tale: June’s Evolution from Handmaid to Rebel showcases a curated collection of costumes meticulously crafted to reflect the journeys of its unforgettable characters. Visitors will have the chance to see up close June Osborn’s (Elisabeth Moss) iconic red handmaid’s dress, cloak, and white winged bonnet, as well as Serena Joy Waterford’s (Yvonne Strahovski) haunting teal dress. The exhibit also features a selection of fan-favorite artifacts and props that have become symbols of the series, including Commander Waterford’s Scrabble board, Nichole’s doll from Nick, June’s Boston map, June’s Handmaid muzzle, among others. In addition, costumes worn by other pivotal characters—Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd), Nick Blaine (Max Minghella), Commander Lawrence (Bradley Whitford), Rita (Amanda Brugel) and Hannah’s (Jordana Blake) plum outfit and June’s prison uniform, each representing moments of heartbreaking significance. Together, these powerful pieces honor not only the creative talent behind the scenes, but also the lasting cultural impact of this critically acclaimed drama.

On Tuesday, April 8, the day of the series premiere, The Paley Museum will host a reception and screening of season six’s first two episodes with an introduction by series star Elisabeth Moss. Tickets for this event are available to Paley Members only. Learn more.

Deets: This spring, acclaimed artist Cj Hendry is launching her latest art exhibition “Keff Joons,” inspired by Jeff Koons and his iconic animal balloons. With her notorious sense of humor, play, and juxtaposition, Hendry’s adaptation of ‘balloons’ aims to challenge perceptions of space and volume through this ubiquitous object. As always, Hendry’s signature exhibition style encourages visitors to interact and play with their surroundings and to explore how movement, placement, and material transform the spaces around them, both physical and internal.

Hint for the Average Socialite: Keff Joons is open to the public at no cost, the exhibition includes large interactive sculptures, original drawings, lenticular editions, and a selection of merchandise for sale.

What’s Trending: @cj_hendry

Balloons are so simple, yet they carry this enormous emotional weight—joy, nostalgia, fragility. I love that they float
so effortlessly, but at any moment, they can pop. Keff Joons is my tongue-in-cheek nod at that balance between
lightness and impermanence through the lens of Jeff Koons’ incredible balloon sculptures. While Jeff has
transformed the balloon animal into an icon of art, I’ve cobbled together these balloon “knots” that forgo structure
and form and are totally ridiculous. I’m leaving the real art to the professionals!

Directed by Howard and produced by the powerhouse team at Imagine Documentaries (Jim Henson Idea Man, Harlem Ice), Pets dives into the pure magic of these unspoken connections. Through viral videos, archival footage, and deeply personal stories, the film showcases the joy, loyalty, and unconditional love that make our pets family.

Deets: For one week only, CHAUHAUS is partnering with the iconic, maximalist universe of SUSHIDELIC to create a uniquely New York, Japanese-inspired Pop-Up Café.

The Café imagines what DELICATS and KAWAII MONSTERS eat to start their day. If you are what you eat—these colorful characters must be eating the rainbow!

Menu items include Japanese convenience store staples like shokupon filled with whipped cream and fruit or egg salad sandos. There are creative takes on classic toasts like a deconstructed mushroom mapo tofu, yuzu-avocado-lox toast, and a signature curry crab cake benedict. Throughout the week, the café will feature special guests, artistic interventions and surprise hosts including DankDelish, Cyd, and Chef Tova Sterling to join in on the deliciousness. On Thursday, don’t miss the Food x Art x Tech Meetup event hosted by NYU ITP staff and students!

The pop-up builds on the creative momentum of recent collaborations between arts nonprofit TEN TEN NYC and Japan’s 6%DokiDoki, including Kawaii Holiday Market at Ideal Glass Studios and sold-out NYE Kawaii Countdown at SUSHIDELIC. As Professor Strawberry puts it, “Within the food we eat is a story–our story, the story of our ancestors, and the story of the universe.” Professor Strawberry reminds us that every bite tells a tale. Come to SUSHIDELIC to learn, be heard, and chow down.

This limited engagement runs daily from Tuesday, April 15 through Sunday, April 20, 10AM-3PM, at SUSHIDELIC (177 Lafayette St, SoHo).

Deets: For the 2025 Roof Garden Commission, Jennie C. Jones (born 1968, Cincinnati, Ohio) will produce Ensemble. Only her second outdoor sculptural installation, the project will explore the sonic potential of stringed instruments as well as their formal possibilities. In the artist's unique response to modernism, these acoustic sculptures propose the line of the string as a proxy for art history, unbroken and continuous.

In her paintings, sculptures, works on paper, installations, and audio compositions, Jones uses sound to respond to the legacy of minimalism and to modernism itself. Drawing on her immersion in Black improvisation and avant-garde music, she deploys sound and listening as important conceptual elements of her practice, from the acoustic fiberglass panels she affixes to canvas, which absorb sound and affect the acoustic properties of the environment, to the lines and bars she creates through her compositions that refer to elements of musical notation. Her work across media offers new possibilities for minimalist abstraction, challenging how—and by whom—it is produced.

Deets: Newman’s Own, Inc. will start its 2025 “Pay What You Want” Food Truck tour in New York City near Bryant Park on April 15!

The food truck will park near Bryant Park on 40th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues, from 12-7PM. Customers can decide what they pay for Newman’s Own pizzas, salads, cookies, coffee and even dog treats, with every dollar going to Newman’s Own Foundation to help kids who face adversity.

The Pay What You Want Food Truck first launched last year serving pizza and making over 20 stops to test the power of the pay-what-you-want model. Across all cities, customers paid more than the average retail prices, proving that people give generously when they know their purchase makes a difference.

This year, the truck will visit communities surrounding cities such as New York City, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Charlotte and Atlanta, bringing meals and snacks to local, family-friendly events.

Inspired by company founder Paul Newman’s original mission, the Pay What You Want Food Truck builds on Newman’s Own long-standing “Give it All Away” model, where 100% of profits go to the Foundation and its mission to nourish and transform the lives of children who face adversity. Since 1982, Paul Newman and Newman’s Own Foundation have donated more than $600 million to good causes — all funded by the millions of consumers who purchase Newman’s Own products.

With 1 in 5 U.S. children living in food insecure households, according to USDA Economic Research Service’s 2023 report, “Household Food Security in the United States in 2023,” the food truck tour aims to raise $500,000.

Today, Newman’s Own Foundation grantee partners promote nutritious food in schools, support Indigenous food justice, and through SeriousFun Children’s Network, create positive childhood experiences for kids living with serious illnesses.

April 19 / May 10 / June 14 @ 11AM

Deets: The pop-up that had lines down the block (battling that even of the cronut craze) is making its highly anticipated spring return. Eleven Madison Park’s Bake it Nice is back, and if last season’s turnout was any indication, it’s about to take over New York’s food scene once again.

On April 19th, May 10th, and June 14th, pastry fanatics will line up for Madison Squares — the flakey, plant-based, cult pastries crafted by Executive Pastry Chef Laura Cronin, who’s redefining vegan baking. Each pop-up brings rotating seasonal flavors!

These croissant-inspired squares are more than just viral fodder — they offer Michelin-starred creativity at bakery counter prices, letting New Yorkers taste the elevated techniques of Eleven Madison Park in a totally approachable (and portable) format. It’s part of why Bake it Nice has become a true downtown obsession.

And it’s not just first-timers flocking in: locals return week after week, eager to see what new, never-before-seen flavor Laura has dreamed up next. Each drop delivers a wildly inventive, seasonal twist that keeps even the most seasoned foodies guessing — and coming back.

The pop-up also features refreshing Agua Fresca by Beverage Director Sebastian Tollius, coffee to go, and select Eleven Madison Home goods for anyone looking to take the experience home.

About Bake it Nice
Bake it Nice debuted in 2023, offering fans of Eleven Madison Park the opportunity to enjoy the restaurant's exceptional pastries outside of its tasting menu. Led by Laura Cronin, this pop-up series has become a cult favorite, known for its innovative plant-based pastries that combine traditional techniques with modern flavors.

About Laura Cronin
Laura Cronin’s journey into the world of pastry began in her hometown of Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, where she developed a love for baking at a young age. After honing her skills at Johnson & Wales University and the San Francisco Baking Institute, she furthered her education at Paris's prestigious Ecole Gregoire-Ferrandi. Her illustrious career has taken her from San Francisco to New York City, where she now serves as Executive Pastry Chef at Eleven Madison Park. Laura has been recognized as a Rising Star Chef by the San Francisco Chronicle and was named to Zagat’s 30 under 30 list.

Hint for the Average Socialite: We highly suggest arriving early! The pop-up opens at 11AM until they run out!

The Costume Institute Benefit (also known as The Met Gala®) / May 5
Met Gala Exhibition Dates: / May 10 – October 26, 2025

Deets: The Metropolitan Museum of Art announced The Costume Institute’s spring 2025 exhibition, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, on view at The Met Fifth Avenue from May 10 through October 26, 2025. Inspired by Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, the exhibition will present a cultural and historical examination of the Black dandy, from the figure’s emergence in Enlightenment Europe during the 18th century to 21st-century incarnations in the cosmopolitan cities of London, New York, and Paris.

To mark the exhibition opening, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams and Anna Wintour will co-chair The Costume Institute Benefit (also known as The Met Gala®) on May 5, 2025, with honorary chair LeBron James. Additionally, chef Kwame Onwuachi will create the menu for the evening and artist Cy Gavin will design the décor concept alongside Derek McLane and Raúl Àvila. The annual event provides the department with its primary source of annual funding for exhibitions, publications, acquisitions, operations, and capital improvements.

The exhibition and benefit are made possible by Louis Vuitton.

Major funding is provided by Instagram, the Hobson/Lucas Family Foundation, Dr. Precious Moloi-Motsepe and Africa Fashion International, and The Perry Foundation.

Additional support is provided by Condé Nast.

The Exhibition

The Costume Institute’s spring 2025 exhibition will present a cultural and historical examination of the Black dandy, from the figure’s emergence in Enlightenment Europe during the 18th century to today’s incarnations in cities around the world.

Inspired by Guest Curator Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, the exhibition will explore the importance of sartorial style to the formation of Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora. Historically, the term dandy was used to describe someone—often a man—who is extremely devoted to style and approaches it as a discipline. Dandyism was initially imposed on Black men in 18th-century Europe as the Atlantic slave trade and an emerging culture of consumerism created a trend of fashionably dressed, or dandified, servants. Dandyism offered Black people an opportunity to use clothing, gesture, irony, and wit to transform their given identities and imagine new ways of embodying political and social possibilities.

The exhibition will tell the Black dandy’s story over time through a range of media, such as garments and accessories, drawings and prints, and paintings, photographs, film excerpts, and more. Taken together, these narratives offer a history and description of Black dandyism as a discrete phenomenon that reflects broader issues of power and race in the Black diaspora.

MEOW WOLF AT PIER 17, NYC

Art by Zac Lux

Deets: Meow Wolf is coming to New York City! Our seventh exhibition will lie in the piers of Manhattan’s historic Seaport neighborhood.

Meow Wolf transforms art and storytelling through unparalleled immersive worlds. Bringing Meow Wolf to New York represents a seismic shift in art and entertainment that challenges and delights us, setting a new standard for wonder, awe, and innovation.

Meow Wolf, the creators of mind-bending immersive experiences, is heading to New York City. Their seventh permanent exhibition will open at the historic Seaport, bringing their maximalist mix of art, storytelling, and interactivity to one of the most iconic cities in the world. After years of East Coast fans asking for a Meow Wolf experience closer to home, the wait is finally over. The Seaport, a place where history and reinvention collide, is the perfect setting for Meow Wolf’s next adventure.

During South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Meow Wolf announced its next permanent exhibition to open in New York City. The reveal unfolded live on-stage, as beloved icon Plotzo, Meow Wolf’s self-proclaimed rat king of the undermallers, crashed the SXSW panel Dada for Dada: The Power of Absurdity to deliver the news.

Since its scrappy beginnings in Santa Fe in 2008, Meow Wolf has redefined how audiences engage with art. What started as an art collective transforming discarded materials into immersive experiences has evolved into a global phenomenon. With House of Eternal Return in Santa Fe as its first permanent exhibition, Meow Wolf has since expanded to Las Vegas, Denver, Dallas, and Houston, with upcoming locations in Los Angeles and now, New York. Across all these worlds, one thing remains constant: Meow Wolf’s ability to transport visitors into mind-expanding, interactive realms.

New York City has long been a hub for creative invention, making it a natural fit for Meow Wolf’s first East Coast exhibition. The Seaport’s waterfront energy, cobblestone streets, and eclectic mix of culture create a space where past and future converge—an environment set to fuel Meow Wolf’s imagination.

“The energy of New York City is unlike anywhere else, and it’s the perfect place for Meow Wolf,” said Jose Tolosa, CEO of Meow Wolf. “This city has given the world so much groundbreaking art and culture, and as a New Yorker myself, where my family and I proudly call home, I’m incredibly proud that we’re bringing something truly unique to this historic and ever-evolving creative hub.”

Meow Wolf exhibitions don’t fit into neat categories. They’re not escape rooms, selfie museums, or traditional immersive experiences. They are interactive universes filled with layers of narrative, where every visitor becomes part of the story. Meow Wolf New York will push these boundaries even further connecting to Meow Wolf’s larger cosmic universe while crafting something distinctly New York.

"New York has always been a city that thrives on reinvention, making it the perfect place for Meow Wolf’s next evolution," said Vince Kadlubek, Meow Wolf Co-Founder and Chief Vision Officer. "I’ve been closely involved in bringing this to life, and I couldn’t be more excited. We’re creating something with a level of creative ambition and next-generation storytelling that pushes beyond anything we’ve done before—an experience that truly belongs in this city."

Co-Founder and mascot Benji Geary sees it through a different lens. "I’m just excited to see an exhibit of ours in the most legendary city. New York is its own planet, a hyperobject of culture—self-assured, jaded, but hungry. It devours, reinvents, and warps reality through sheer density of minds. What happens when we throw our weird into that mix? The artists, the energy, the exquisite corpse of collaboration—what egregore will emerge? This isn’t a Meow Wolf exhibit in NYC. It’s NYC’s Meow Wolf exhibit. It’s gonna be what it wants to be."

As the first Certified B Corporation in the entertainment industry, Meow Wolf is dedicated to working with local artists to ensure each exhibition reflects the heart of its host city. Meow Wolf New York will be a love letter to the stories, people, and artistic spirit that make the city an unmatched cultural powerhouse.

The theme, opening date, and more details are still to come.

Hint for the Average Socialite: Stay tuned for more info!

Hint for the Average Socialite: On Thursday, April 10, the restaurant will host a celebration where the first 50 people in line for dinner, starting at 5PM, will receive a free t-shirt, swag and a free gyro – the restaurant’s signature menu item, which starts with a pita filled with either beef & lamb, chicken or pork belly, and then topped with crispy french fries, tomatoes, onions and any of the restaurant’s house made sauces, including tzatziki, spicy feta, TGP house sauce, hot harissa or honey mustard.

April 10 - 12 / 4PM-8PM

Deets: Pizza Hut is putting an indulgent twist on the caviar craze sweeping foodie culture with the launch of "Pizza Caviar"* – a first-of-its-kind innovation that transforms the fine dining trend into something completely unexpected. Caviar has been elevating some of the world's most beloved comfort foods with the unexpected hi-low pairings popping up in upscale restaurants and gracing social feeds across the country. In true Pizza Hut fashion, the brand asked: why just place caviar on your pizza when you can reimagine it entirely and create a bold new food category? Inspired by the rise of "caviar bumps", these bite-sized Pizza Caviar pearls are made to taste like pepperoni and designed for dipping, dunking, and bumping.

Crafted to replicate the look and feel of traditional caviar – without the fish – Pizza Caviar delivers a bold, smoky pepperoni flavor in a fun new form. Pizza Caviar is the star of the brand-new Pizza Caviar Bump Box – a luxe, limited-time twist on My Hut Box®, Pizza Hut's signature combo meal**. The Box includes one cheese Personal Pan Pizza® and choice of 3 plain boneless wings or fries, all topped with bursts of pepperoni-flavored "Pizza Caviar".

Hint for the Average Socialite: Pizza Hut's new product innovation, Pizza Caviar Bump Box will be available exclusively at the Pizza Hut located at 932 8th Avenue in New York City from April 10th – April 12th from 4-8PM, while supplies last.
