Deets: The annual Museum Mile Festival offers free admission to some of the world's finest art collections during extended evening hours. The stretch of Fifth Avenue is home to eight participating institutions—The Africa Center, El Museo del Barrio, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, the Jewish Museum, Neue Galerie and the Museum of the City of New York. The festival kicks off at 6pm, rain or shine.
Billed by festival organizers as New York's biggest block party, the Museum Mile Festival in New York City is a mile-long celebration of art and culture.
The festival is held annually, usually on an evening in June on the second Tuesday of the month.
Stretching along Fifth Avenue between 82nd and 105th (which is roughly a mile) the streets are closed off to cars. And, for at least one special day and evening -- the whole mile becomes a stroller's heaven.
This year, the 44th annual Museum Mile Festival is scheduled for Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 6PM - 9PM, rain or shine.
