Deets: For one week only, CHAUHAUS is partnering with the iconic, maximalist universe of SUSHIDELIC to create a uniquely New York, Japanese-inspired Pop-Up Café.

The Café imagines what DELICATS and KAWAII MONSTERS eat to start their day. If you are what you eat—these colorful characters must be eating the rainbow!

Menu items include Japanese convenience store staples like shokupon filled with whipped cream and fruit or egg salad sandos. There are creative takes on classic toasts like a deconstructed mushroom mapo tofu, yuzu-avocado-lox toast, and a signature curry crab cake benedict. Throughout the week, the café will feature special guests, artistic interventions and surprise hosts including DankDelish, Cyd, and Chef Tova Sterling to join in on the deliciousness. On Thursday, don’t miss the Food x Art x Tech Meetup event hosted by NYU ITP staff and students!

The pop-up builds on the creative momentum of recent collaborations between arts nonprofit TEN TEN NYC and Japan’s 6%DokiDoki, including Kawaii Holiday Market at Ideal Glass Studios and sold-out NYE Kawaii Countdown at SUSHIDELIC. As Professor Strawberry puts it, “Within the food we eat is a story–our story, the story of our ancestors, and the story of the universe.” Professor Strawberry reminds us that every bite tells a tale. Come to SUSHIDELIC to learn, be heard, and chow down.

This limited engagement runs daily from Tuesday, April 15 through Sunday, April 20, 10AM-3PM, at SUSHIDELIC (177 Lafayette St, SoHo).
