Based on FOX’s hit show, the exhibit will run at The Paley Museum located at 25 West 52 Street starting Wednesday, March 13 through Sunday, May 19.
Throughout its eleven seasons, FOX’s dynamic singing competition series The Masked Singer has remained a captivating television staple and a hit with audiences of all ages. The series’ central concept, disguising its celebrity contestants from head to toe in elaborate costume creations that shield their identities, continues to capture the imagination of television audiences everywhere while generating a virtual social media frenzy of speculation with each new episode.
Framed by a stunning selection of the series' breathtaking costumes, including fan-favorites Miss Monster, Flamingo, Chameleon and Gazelle, video highlights, artifacts, photography, and family arts & crafts, The Masked Singer: Behind the Mask! is a vibrant celebration of the innovative and addictive television favorite hosted by Nick Cannon, alongside panelists Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke, and new panelist Rita Ora. The series airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on FOX.
The costumes on display, which helped the show win two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Costume Design, are a vibrant synthesis of fashion, fantasy, and imaginative costume artistry. Each is a fantastical creation, extraordinary in its intricacy, originality, and scale.
The exhibit also highlights the production's painstaking efforts to ensure the contestants' identities are kept secret both on stage and off, including the custom visors and hoodies emblazoned with a "Don't Talk to Me" warning, worn by each contestant. Together they enable the series' trademark secrecy and its enduring TV magic to prevail.
