Deets: Join Flatiron NoMad Partnership for a week-long Día de Muertos celebration with interactive, family-friendly events throughout the district.
October 28 - November 1 - Visitors can check out the mobile Día de Muertos experience, a small box activation throughout the district.
October 28 - November 1 – Along the façade of Iron23 at 29 West 23rd Street view an outdoor photo exhibit, Living Memories: Portraits of Día de Muertos by Fernando Avila Aguilar featuring photos of more than a dozen different Día de Muertos celebrations around Pátzcuaro, Michoacán, México.
October 28, 4-6pm - Visitors are encouraged to stop by local Mexican restaurants in the neighborhood for free food samples at participating businesses including Tacombi, Mamazul and Casa Carmen. Visitors will enjoy complimentary samples while supplies last, as well as additional promotions on menu items from participating restaurants.
October 30, 12-3pm - A special family-friendly event featuring interactive activities and crafts to take home at the Capitol Plaza located at 48 West 27th St.
November 1, 3-7pm -Día de Muertos Week culminates in a free public event at Flatiron North Plaza. Attendees are encouraged to bring photos and small mementos to honor their departed loved ones, contributing to a Community Ofrenda (altar) presented in partnership with Mano a Mano, a nonprofit dedicated to celebrating Mexican culture. Guests will also enjoy Mexican folklore performances by Calpulli Mexican Dance Company, along with face painting and sugar skull decorating.
