Deets: Contemporary sculptor, Dan Lam, is joining forces with Bombay Sapphire to curate the SENSORY AUCTION to celebrate International Gin & Tonic Day—Tuesday, Oct 19th. Though Dan’s drippy-instagrammable sculptures typically run for tens of thousands of dollars, the attendee with the highest sensory response to the artwork will be gifted the piece for free.
Known for her devoted celebrity following including Miley Cyrus and Lily Aldridge, the renowned artist has designed a bespoke artwork inspired by the sensorial experience of enjoying a Bombay & Tonic.
On a mission to help transform the art world into a more inclusive and engaging place, bidders’ sensorial reactions to the artwork will be measured by a neuroscientist-designed device to discover the piece’s most impassioned owner.
With the dawn of NFTs and online art exhibitions (I.e., Sotheby’s) which were accelerated by the pandemic, the art industry has worked to become more accessible. To take the democratization of the art world IRL, Bombay Sapphire has designed the first ever forum for consumers where bids are placed via sensory response and are based on passion for the work instead of money.
Hint for the Average Socialite: This is a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE event. Registration is free but required.
