Rebecca Minkoff’s Spring Summer 2020 Presentation & Collection
February 8, 2020 | New York, NY | Pier59 Studios
Rebecca Minkoff’s Spring Summer 2020 collection is inspired by the notion of rebirth, continuing to unfold the story of last season’s “working girl” themed presentation, but taking it a step further showing our woman in another dimension of her life. This presentation showcases and celebrates all the parts of a woman, from working, to having a family, to moments of rejuvenation and celebrating LIFE.
The collection delivers innovative separates and dresses that can be worn multiple ways featured in an array of sandy nudes, pastel pinks, sea blues, mellow yellows and burnt orange. “I wanted to design from our origins of a west meets east coast sensibility, by integrating natural elements of the earth tones, floral patterns and silhouettes,” Rebecca Minkoff notes on her collection.
Pulling each look together, handbags are a mix of bright pops of neon colored leather mini crossbodies, and woven textured and faux snakeskin shoulder bags. Shoes feature unexpected details such as pearls, bows and chunky platforms throughout. Additionally, delicate yet beachy jewelry tops off each look with multi-color beaded bracelets, layered chain necklaces and yin yang pendants.
As motherhood remains an integral part of Rebecca’s daily life, building on the momentum of last season, Medela pumps and a breastfeeding model will be featured in the set design.
This presentation will mark Rebecca’s first foray into designing children’s clothing — with the launch of Little Minkoff, an eco-friendly kid’s clothing line. Little Minkoff is a celebration of the essence of Rebecca Minkoff, distilled in fun, colorful and environmentally friendly child size clothing options. The collection uses technology to help mitigate waste, labor and packaging through a block-chain traceability system. Only when an order is placed does the process of creating the garment begin (helping to solve overstock in inventory, as well as discarded clothing that would potentially end up in landfills). All fabrics used are composed of biodegradable materials, BLUESIGN-approved reactive inks (that are earth friendly), and uses 50% less water to produce. The collection offers a range of children’s sizes, from age 4 to 12, and will launch February 2020 on www.littleminkoff.com.
A very special thank you to the Rebecca Minkoff family and team. Your heart and dedication powers the company.
