Deets: For eight years, Eater has been honoring up-and-coming industry talents as Young Guns, the people the world doesn’t know yet but whose household-name status is just around the corner. This year, we’re celebrating Young Guns with our first-ever Eater Young Guns Summit, a one-day event driving conversation around the future of dining and restaurant culture, featuring and celebrating its trailblazing young talent.
Here’s just a taste of the conversations to expect:
“Entertaining, Unhinged,” with Amy Sedaris and Amanda Kludt
“The New Ina and Martha,” a conversation with Alison Roman and Von Diaz
“Making Money Moves,” on launching a startup featuring Maya Lovelace and Great Jonescofounder Sierra Tishgart
“Goodbye Food World, Hello City Hall,” featuring the trailblazers who’ve traded the restaurant industry for politics
“Learning from Failure,” a candid talk with Michael Solomonov, Steve Cook, Preeti Mistry, and others
There will be chances to get hands-on with our 2019 Young Gun winners, with demos including a pastry workshop with chef Zoe Kanan, pork butchery with Jason Chow, a “bean-to-bar” tasting with Dandelion Chocolate’s Annie Kamin, and a deep dive into natural wine with Kae Whalen — and a pop-up shop filled with cookware, food, and other products you can bring home to your own pantry.
And of course, there will be lots to eat: biscuits from Pies ‘N’ Thighs, pies from Petee’s Pie, fried chicken from Win Son, breakfast tacos from King David Tacos, Junzi Kitchen noodles, baked treats from Mah Ze Dahr, and so, so much more.
Join us in Brooklyn on Saturday, July 27 from 10:30am – 7:00pm for a good food, good conversation, and a chance to experience Eater’s award-winning journalism IRL, all with a $60 ticket.
Who You May Spot: Amy Sedaris, Alison Roman, Marcus Samuelsson, Michael Solomonov, and more!
