Deets: To celebrate the unshakable friendship between Japan and the United States, the Embassy of Japan and the Washington Mystics will host “Japanese Heritage Day” during the Washington Mystics game against the Minnesota Lynx at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 17. This event will mark the strong ties that WNBA players and Tokyo 2020 Olympic medalists Rui Machida and Ariel Atkins of the Washington Mystics have to the D.C. area.
Japanese Heritage Day will feature interactive activities focused on Japanese culture and unique photo opportunities including an installation of a Japanese ema (絵馬) wishing wall, and a booth featuring the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Torch. The wishing wall will be in section 106 while the Olympic Torch will be in section 108.
Fans will also enjoy a special performance by Taiko Drummers and a message from Japan’s Ambassador to the United States, Koji Tomita.
