On Friday, March 14, 2025, the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center (JACCC), in partnership with Suntory’s MARU-HI, presents ‘MARU-HI Izakaya,’ a first-of-its-kind event bringing the essence of Japan’s beloved izakayas to life.

For one night only, Isamu Noguchi Plaza will pulse with the vibrant energy of Tokyo’s traditional bar scene, featuring custom-designed izakaya counters, where guests can sip, savor, and socialize like never before. This immersive, ticketed experience offers an evening of expertly crafted small plates, premium MARU-HI cocktails, and authentic izakaya vibes—right in the heart of L.A.

Step away from the usual bar scene and discover the magic of Japan’s izakaya culture—where good food, great drinks, and meaningful connections take center stage. Enjoy a curated marketplace of offerings from some of L.A.’s top eateries—including Yakitoriguy, Far Bar, Yama Seafood, Spoon by H, and many more—each showcasing their unique flair in shareable, umami-packed bites.

Complementing these flavors is MARU-HI, a bold new sparkling citrus cocktail from Suntory inspired by Japan’s beloved ‘Chu-hi’—a Tokyo nightlife beverage staple known for its bright, refreshing taste that pairs perfectly with izakaya-style dining.
