Deets: In anticipation of the premiere of the HBO® Original limited series THE SYMPATHIZER, debuting SUNDAY, APRIL 14 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT, Max is teaming up with 626 Night Market to bring the show to life in Santa Monica, CA.
Inspired by the themes and narrative of the limited series, the event will celebrate the intersection of culture, community, and storytelling on Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14 from 1 p.m.–10 p.m. PT, where guests can immerse themselves in the vibrant world of Vietnamese cuisine, art, and entertainment.
The night market will be free and open to the public. There will also be live sounds by Vietnamese-American DJs Demonslayer and Annalog with a special performance by Vietnamese-American artist Dolly Ave from 7 p.m.–10 p.m. on the evening of Saturday, April 13 only.
Based on Viet Thanh Nguyen’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name, THE SYMPATHIZER is an espionage thriller and cross-culture satire about the struggles of a half-French, half-Vietnamese communist spy during the final days of the Vietnam War and his new life as a refugee in Los Angeles, where he learns that his spying days aren't over.
The market will feature a handful of Vietnamese food vendors such as All Dat Dumpling, All Dat Noodle, Café 949, Ridges Churro Bar, and The Ugly Bao, and merchandise vendors such as Steve Minty, as well as HBO x THE SYMPATHIZER branded elements and photo moments inspired by the series and traditional night markets found in Asia.
The new HBO Original limited series THE SYMPATHIZER debuts Sunday, April 14 on HBO and will be available to stream on Max.

The 626 Night Market, the largest Asian-inspired night market in the United States, is set to return for its twelfth year. Featuring over 200 vendors, the 626 Night Market offers a variety of food and merchandise that caters to all tastes and preferences. From traditional Asian street food to innovative fusion cuisine, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
The 626 Night Market will take place over ten weekends, starting from the first weekend of April until the end of September. Ranging from various locations starting in San Diego, with a larger space, and returning in Pleasanton, Arcadia, and Costa Mesa.
