Deets: The Pico Union Project—one-part community outreach organization serving the underinvested Pico-Union neighborhood and one-part vibrant live music and arts venue—celebrates 10 years of service with a “Pico de Mayo” street fair and fundraiser. The event will take place at the nonprofit’s historic location: an architecturally stunning 1909 building, originally Los Angeles’ oldest synagogue, now a multicultural interfaith destination and home to the Pico Union Project.
The day will begin with the nonprofit’s weekly “Vida Sana” free food distribution, a farmers market-style event where community members in need can “shop” for fresh produce, pantry staples, and other essential items. Usually taking place every Friday, this special iteration of “Vida Sana” will kick off Sunday’s festivities.
All proceeds go to the Pico Union Project.
