Deets: The 27th Annual L.A. Cancer Challenge 5K Walk/Run creates an enchanted experience for the entire family with the Fit Family Expo and the fantastical Candyland Kids Zone, presented by L.A. Parent. Southern California’s longest-running Halloween-themed fundraiser to be held on the beautiful UCLA campus, promises to be a fun and rewarding time for all. The festive decorations and animated costumes create a dynamic atmosphere that drives excitement while raising awareness for pancreatic cancer research. Registration is currently available for the 5k walk/run. The Fit Family Expo and Candyland Kids Zone are free and open to the public.
The L.A. Cancer Challenge unites for a purpose by building hope and making a difference in the fight against pancreatic cancer, the disease with the highest mortality rate among all major cancers. Hosted and produced by the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, the L.A. Cancer Challenge marks the beginning of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month (in November) and the Halloween season.
EVENT ATTRACTIONS: The Fit Family Expo and Candyland Kids Zone promises a fun-filled day with a variety of Halloween activities and attractions that cater to both kids and adults. From interactive health and fitness booths to an Adult Costume Contest and Kids Costume Parade (ages 2 – 11), everyone can enjoy a moment in the spotlight to show off their creative Halloween outfit (prizes will be awarded in the Adult Costume Contest). The fundraiser also features a whimsical Candyland Kids Zone, complete with life-size candy decor, festive arts and crafts, moonbounces, and more. Participants who cross the celebratory finish line can grab a donut from the giant Donut Wall.
