Deets: The Sarah Robarts and Jenny Chandler Art Exhibit Open Studio Show was a success on July 8 at The Enclave, a newly opened venue in LA. The stunning art pieces were on display throughout the 10,000 square foot space, accompanied by a sculpture by Yossi Govrin. Attendees were treated to delicious food, including tray-passed appetizers, a full bar, and a food truck from Heavy Handed. The event lasted until late at night, with guests even starting an impromptu conga line. The guest list included notable figures such as Emily Cloke (US British Consul General), filmmakers, publishers, fashionistas, studio executives, and influencers.
Sarah Robarts Bio
A painter for 40 years, Sarah Robarts was born in Uganda, raised in Kenya, and has lived and painted in Israel, France, Canada, and the United Kingdom before moving to the United States. In 2000, Robarts landed in Palm Springs, where she painted, created, and renovated a mid-century modern hotel that quickly became a gathering place for creatives, connectors and the glamorous jet set. Connecting artists, entrepreneurs, thought leaders and tastemakers brought Robarts further West, and Ballantines PR grew organically into an award-winning global business with influence across hospitality, art, design, entertainment and philanthropy. Robarts’ work is painterly, often layered using mixed media, and painted to canvas and other surfaces. Her palette is often a combination of the vibrant colors of Kenya and the distinct hues of Californian sunlight; and her draughtsman-like marks often connote architectural drawings, inspired by her father and brother - both of whom are architects. Robarts continues to be inspired by her study of The Baha’i Faith, Rumi, Buddhism and Self-Realization Fellowship and believes art is a spiritual practice - one that is an act of service and worship and contributes to the unity of all people. Robarts began studying The History of Art at an early age encouraged by her mother, who is also a successful painter. She later attended West Heath in England and received her B.F.A. from Queen’s University in Canada. Philanthropy remains central to Robarts’ life, and she has made it a priority to work with nonprofits around the world; some of these include Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Kenya’s CURA Orphanage, The Los Angeles Zoo, Save the Elephants, and TUSK.
Jenny Chandler Bio
Jenny Chandler art is anything but ordinary abstract. Just as every moment and chapter of life shapes us, every layer of her pieces tell an ever changing story. Using primarily acrylic, each piece is composed of cohesive yet inconsistent movement and dimension. So thick you feel like you’re sinking into it’s depth or so atmospheric it’s sending a breath of fresh air into your lungs. A paradox inside an enigma is what you’ll see in every piece. Endlessly building and shapeshifting, everyone can find their own story in each piece.
Hint for the Average Socialite: This event is strictly invite only.
