Deets: The Academy Museum is hosting a special screening of FernGully: The Last Rainforest as a part of their family matinee series. This screening honors the 30th Anniversary of the film and marks the film's official return to theaters after 30 years. On April 1, 2023, the screening kicks off Earth Month (April) and aims to raise awareness of the importance of climate justice activism, a prevalent theme from the original film.  

At its release in 1992, FernGully was the first animated film where Hollywood icons the late Robin Williams and Sir Elton John contributed their talents, leading them to beloved classics such as Aladdin and The Lion King.  FernGully was the first film to premiere at The United Nations, winning the One Earth award.
