Deets: Tierra del Sol, a nonprofit organization that champions community inclusion for adults with developmental disabilities in the San Fernando, San Gabriel, and Santa Clarita Valleys, will host the grand opening of Tierra’s Treasures, a sustainable second-hand goods boutique benefitting people with developmental disabilities, on March 25, 2023. The second-hand store will be filled with unique treasures and staffed by adults with developmental disabilities. The proceeds from the boutique will be used to support Tierra del Sol and their associates who are challenged by developmental disabilities such as autism, Down syndrome, and Cerebral Palsy.

Tierra del Sol champions inclusion and value for people with developmental disabilities through creative pathways to workforce development, education, and the arts. Founded 51 years ago by eight families, Tierra now serves 794 people each day throughout the San Fernando, Santa Clarita, and San Gabriel Valleys through 197 community-based partnerships with businesses, nonprofits, and colleges. Hint for the Average Socialite: Open to the public!

Regular store hours will take place Wednesday through Friday (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.) as well as Saturday and Sunday (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Donations of gently used items will also be accepted on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tierra’s Treasures is located at 3315 Burbank Blvd, Burbank, CA 91505.
