Deets: The 13th annual AAFCA Film Awards will celebrate outstanding achievement in film. Awards will be presented in several categories including: Best Picture (“The Harder They Fall,” Best Actor (Will Smith, “King Richard”), Best Actress (Jennifer Hudson, “Respect”), Netflix), Best Supporting Actor (Corey Hawkins, “The Tragedy of Macbeth”), Best Supporting Actress (Aunjanue Ellis, “King Richard”), Breakout Actor (Saniyya Sidney, “King Richard”), Best Ensemble (“The Harder They Fall,” Netflix), Best Screenplay (Adam McKay, “Don’t Look Up), Emerging Director (Reinaldo Marcus Green, “King Richard”), Best Music (Jeymes Samuel, Kid Cudi, Jay-Z “The Harder They Fall”), Best Independent Feature (Jeffery Robinson, “Who We Are”) and Best Documentary (“Summer of Soul”). The Stanley Kramer Award for Social Justice will be presented to “Attica” Director Stanley Nelson and Co-Director Traci Curry. Roxanne Avent-Taylor will receive the Building Change Award, presented by Lowes, the Salute to Excellence will be presented to John Gibson and the Innovator Awards will be presented to Terence Blanchard.
