Deets: The 9th Annual Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards (MUAHS) Awards Gala will return to a live ceremony on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at The Beverly Hilton Hotel and will also be presented on a digital platform streamed to a worldwide and inclusive audience. The MUAHS Lifetime Achievement Award is given to one make-up artist and one hair stylist for an extraordinary spectrum of acclaimed work, exceptional contributions to the motion picture arts and sciences, or outstanding service to their union or the entertainment industry. Winners will be honored at the MUAHS gala on Saturday, February 19, 2022.
Who You May Spot: Honorees include Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Jon Favreau (The Book of Boba Fett, Mandalorian, Star Wars, Iron Man and Avengersseries) to virtually receive the Distinguished Artisan Award; Doug Jones (The Shape of Water, Pan’s Labyrinth) to be honored with first-ever The Chair Award; Christina Smith (Cabaret, Schindler’s List, Steel Magnolias) will receive the Vanguard Award. Oscar & Emmy®-winning make-up artist Michèle Burke (Mission Impossible and Austin Powers series), and Emmy-winning hair stylist Joy Zapata (A Star is Born, Wonder Woman 1984, Star Trek: Nemesis) will receive Lifetime Achievement Awards.
Presenters include Emmy- nominated actors Mandy Moore & Milo Ventimiglia (This is Us), Peter Gallagher (Grace & Frankie, O.C.), Pamela Adlon (King of the Hill, Californication), and Michael D. Cohen (Henry Danger, Danger Force), Marcus Scribner (Black-ish) join presentersChanel West Coast (MTV's Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory, Ridiculousness), John Brotherton (Fuller House, Furious 7, The Conjuring), Alano Miller(Dexter: New Blood, Sylvie’s Love, Cherish the Day), Sonequa Martin-Green (Star Trek: Discovery, The Walking Dead), Ming-Na Wen (The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett), Kate Linder (The Young and the Restless) among others.
Actress and comedian Melissa Peterman will host the live awards. Television personality, actor and singer Frankie J. Grande will return as star host of the “Red Carpet Pre-Show.”
