In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Beverly Center and LA-based nonprofit organization and grassroots effort, Paint the City Peaceful, have partnered once again on a community driven art project that seeks to connect Angelenos in the hopes of creating a better future. This Saturday (5/22), LA-based artist John Park will create a mural in Grand Court that celebrates AAPI Heritage Month and ask Angelenos to join him and directly draw on his canvas. After a full-day of community painting, John will return on Sunday to complete his work, and paint this piece live in front of Beverly Center’s guests.
Separately, this Saturday, Beverly Center is launching its Market Series, with a celebration of the last month of Spring. Guests will enjoy live music, treats, sweets, crafts and more.
AAPI
After an incredibly successful BLM partnership in September, Beverly Center and Paint the City Peaceful are partnering once again to bring new, important pieces of art to the Center. In celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, this iteration will be crafted by LA-based artist, John Park. Park is inviting all Angelenos to come to Beverly Center on Saturday, 5/22 from 2-7pm to add their own flare to his piece. The piece of art will be stationed in Grant Court (Level 6). On Sunday, 5/23, John Park will complete the piece and guests are welcome to watch him paint. This piece will live at Beverly Center for the remainder of May!
