Deets:  Cinespia, LA’s favorite cinematic experience presented by Amazon Studios, announced today that they will extend their 2021 season into the month of October with film screenings of Nightmare on Elm Street (10/2), Labyrinth (10/9), Blade (10/16), and The Shining (10/23) at the iconic Hollywood Forever Cemetery. The lineup will sure to get you in the Halloween spirit as the Summer season comes to a close.  Cinespia will resume indoor screenings at iconic theaters in Los Angeles during the winter, which will be announced at a later date.

Today, Cinespia’s John Wyatt and Alia Penner announced the extension into October  “These four films are the perfect way to celebrate the beginning of fall and the Halloween holiday'' said Cinespia founder, John Wyatt. “We’re so excited to be extending the season at Hollywood Forever again this year.”

Saturday, October 2nd  - Nightmare on Elm Street at Hollywood Forever.  Get ready for Freddy Krueger and a slashing night beyond your wildest nightmares A teen suspects foul play when her bloody nightmares terrorize her quiet suburb. With one of the most iconic movie villains to ever cut through the big screen, you won’t want to miss the rollicking popcorn fun and ferociousness. Our free Photo Booth is a real scream. DJ sets and our coffee bar will keep you awake and energized through the night. Whatever you do, don't fall asleep!

Saturday, October 9th  - Labyrinth at Hollywood ForeverDo the magic dance with the superstar who fell to earth in a beautifully twisted crystal-filled fantasy adventure concocted by Jim Henson. David Bowie is the dazzling dandy glam rock goblin who challenges a young Sarah (Jennifer Connelly) to a sprawling quest. The fanciful and fiendish film brings the masquerade to the breathtaking Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Pack a picnic, or make your night scrumptious with food, beer, and wine from our grill and bar!

Saturday, October 16th - Blade at Hollywood Forever. It’s glory over gory when a semi-immortal vampire tries to purge his urge for blood while avenging his mother’s death. Never mind garlic and stakes: martial arts and jaw-clenching action makes the film fierce fun that slays the vampire movie genre. Sink your teeth into treats and eats at our grill and concessions stand. Quench your thirst for beer and wine at our bar while DJ sets slay the night.

Saturday, October 23th - The Shining at Hollywood Forever. Father doesn’t know best when a dad with writer’s block puts family first to haunt and hunt. Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece takes Jack Nicholson through a maze of wicked and wild terrors when a hotel getaway becomes a real nightmare. The Overlook Hotel never looked so good with our frightfully imaginative Free Photo booth. No need to dive into a labyrinth: our concessions stand and grill are easy to find. Visit our bar for beer and wine. Sorry, no red rum.

What began with a screening of Strangers on a Train for a few hundred people has become a Los Angeles institution, hosting hundreds of thousands of moviegoers on the famed Fairbanks Lawn. Now the most popular outdoor cinema event in Southern California, Cinespia is celebrated by fans and filmmakers for hosting a relaxed, off-beat experience. Welcoming up to 4,000 moviegoers per night, guests are invited to bring their own blankets, food, and drinks (including beer and wine), before settling in under the stars for a classic (and sometimes campy) cinematic experience. The magic of Hollywood’s most memorable moments is heightened by the roar of the crowd and movies on the big screen. Every screening also features world class DJ talent to keep the crowd buzzing before and after the main event.

Cinespia is excited to partner with DTS once again as their audio partner for the 2021 season and Diageo as the spirits sponsor.  For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.cinespia.org.
