Deets: Kickoff the 2022 holiday season with the 100th National Christmas Tree Lighting! This beloved American tradition, presented by the National Park Service (NPS) and the National Park Foundation (NPF), will feature musical performances and the official lighting of the National Christmas Tree on the Ellipse in President’s Park. This year, the ceremony and official lighting will take place on Nov. 30.

LL COOL J will host for a second consecutive year, joined on stage by a star-studded lineup of holiday musical performances by Gloria Estefan, Andy Grammer, Joss Stone, Shania Twain, and more. The event will also feature performances by “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band.

CBS will broadcast the tree lighting ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 11 (8:00-9:00 PM ET). The National Christmas Tree Lighting will also be available for the public to view at CBS.com beginning Dec. 12.

Hint for the Average Socialite: The National Christmas Tree site is free to visit and will be open to the public after the National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. The National Christmas Tree area opens to the public on December 2, 2022.
