Deets: The Hirshhorn has been collecting the prolific work of Yayoi Kusama since 1996. Our 2017 survey of her work traveled to five North American art museums, introducing Kusama’s spellbinding visions to record audiences. Next up: an exhibition of her five works in our permanent collection, including two of the artist’s transcendent Infinity Mirror Rooms, sculptures, an early painting, and photographs of the artist. One with Eternity: Yayoi Kusama in the Hirshhorn Collection is a tribute to the life and practice of this visionary artist. While the exhibition is not currently open, we have a few ways to bring the wonder of Kusama into your home. We invite you to explore.

Hint for the Average Socialite: The Hirshhorn will issue free, same-day timed passes to “One with Eternity: Yayoi Kusama in the Hirshhorn Collection” on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 9:30 a.m. daily outside on the museum’s plaza. Timed passes are required for this exhibition, but not for entry into the Hirshhorn Museum, other exhibitions and public spaces. As one of their member benefits, Hirshhorn Insiders are invited to either preview the exhibition or plan ahead by booking timed passes online. The museum has partnered with Etix to manage online pass distribution for members. For more information about timed passes, visit the exhibition’s FAQ.
