Deets: Imperfect Foods has the goal to save 1,000 pounds of food from going to waste in DC in just a week! They are partnering with favorite local eateries to create limited-edition menu items made with Imperfect ingredients and hosting events throughout the week to celebrate. Each dish fights food waste and helps build a better food system. Food Waste Week will support the crucial work that DC Central Kitchen is doing to combat hunger and poverty through job training and job creation in DC. During Food Waste Week, Imperfect Foods will be donating $5 for every dish sold.
Participating Restaurants (menu items available all week)
Chaia: A Rice, Beans, & Greens Bowl made with Imperfect brown rice, sweet peppers, collard greens, black beans, Roma tomatoes, carrots, and cilantro
RASA: The 'Squash' Food Waste Imperfect Salad with summer squash zucchini and carrots
Toki Underground: Imperfect Salt Grilled Sea Bass, with leek and potato puree and caramelized fennel (veg option available)
Dauphine's: Imperfect "Crawfish" Boil Salad with French Larrate fingerling potato, celery aioli, corn, and mushroom
Seylou Bakery: Imperfect Strawberry and Almond Scones and Mixed Green Salads with fennel and peppers, celery and leeks
ANXO: Baked Potato Pizza with shredded mozzarella, parmesan, Imperfect aged gruyere, thin-sliced red potato, bacon, green onion, chives, and a sour cream drizzle
On top of all the great restaurants that Imperfect Foods is working with to prevent Food Waste there are also some really great events planned with a handful of the restaurants next week, all centered around creating a kinder food system.

Wednesday, October 6th: Scraps to Scones, a conversation with DC's Most Creative Bakers at Seylou
Thursday, October 7th: Sustainable Sips, a cocktail class on Toki Underground's outdoor patio
Friday, October 8th: Using the Whole Carrot, a zero-waste cooking demo at RASA
Sunday, October 10th: Perfectly Imperfect Pizza Party, with free ANXO cider
