The Pink Tie Party presented by ANA and hosted by TCMA (a Drew company), is postponed. We are assessing possible ways to reschedule.
The Opening Ceremony co-presented by the Japan Foundation is canceled.
The Blossom Kite Festival, presented by Otsuka American Pharmaceutical, Inc. is canceled.
The Tidal Basin Welcome Area presented with the National Park Service and ANA Stage is canceled.
The 2020 National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade® presented by Events DC is canceled.
Petalpalooza® presented by Chase is canceled.
In addition, the following Premiere events are postponed:
The Japan America Society’s Sakura Matsuri – Japanese Street Festival; future date to be determined.
The Anacostia River Festival, produced by the 11th Street Bridge Park and National Park Service, is postponed until Sunday, August 9, 2020.
Deets: The National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to the city of Washington, DC, and celebrates the enduring friendship between the people of the United States and Japan.Today’s Festival now spans four weeks and welcomes more than 1.5 million people to enjoy diverse and creative programming promoting traditional and contemporary arts and culture, natural beauty, and community spirit.
