11TH ANNUAL NEWSBASH, DC

  • Pearl Street Warehouse at The Wharf 33 Pearl Street Southwest Washington, DC, 20024 United States (map)

Deets: NewsBash, the event founded by a collective of the Washington area’s top female news anchors across every network, announces the 11th annual NewsBash.

Supporters, survivors, politicos and friends will come together, many dressed in head-to-toe pink, for an evening to raise awareness for breast cancer and to raise funds for this year’s beneficiary, Step Sisters. Based in Northern Virginia, Step Sisters raises funds to alleviate the personal and financial difficulties that come with the disease. The money raised from NewsBash will be put towards their Crisis Fund, which supports patients’ rent or mortgage, utility costs, groceries, and more. Step Sisters’ goal is to keep patients from making agonizing decisions between paying for medicine or paying for daily necessities. By funding these services, Step Sisters’ work not only increases a patient’s quality of life, but also decreases her obstacles to treatment.

Hint for the Average Socialite: Tickets are available and prices range from $95 for admission, or $300 for a Mammogram Maven ticket, which supports the utility costs for a breast cancer patient. Covering these costs allow patients to keep their lights, heat, and other necessities on so they can focus on paying for their treatment, especially in these cold winter months. This ticket also includes naming on event signage and a gift bag.

Guests will enjoy an evening featuring specialty cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and sweet treats as well as activities including glitter tattoos, DJs, dancing, and more, all to support this year’s cause. Pink cocktail attire is recommended.
