Deets: SABABA, the “modern Israeli” restaurant located in the heart of Cleveland Park at 3311 Connecticut Avenue, 20008, will offer a variety of Chinese-inspired specials in addition to the full a la carte menu on Christmas Day. Dishes will be presented on a special menu insert that will mimic a Chinese takeout menu. Served from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., the a la carte specials, prepared by Executive Chef Ryan Moore, include Winter Rolls, spring rolls filled with parsnip, cabbage and herbs, served with five-spice vinegar sauce, priced at $12; Duck Dumplings, pan-seared duck confit and scallion dumplings, served with a pomegranate soy sauce, priced at $14; Lamb Rangoon, fried lamb & cream cheese filled wontons, served with house-made sweet chili sauce, priced at $14; Moo Shu Goat, shredded goat cooked with scrambled egg, shiitake mushroom, cabbage and snow pea, served with house made hoisin sauce and Moo Shu pancakes, priced at $26; Grilled Beef & Broccoli, grilled beef and flame-charred broccoli tossed in a chili-garlic sauce, served over rice, priced at $22; Kumquat "Orange" Chicken, chopped battered fried chicken coated in kumquat and chili sauce, served over rice, priced at $22; Sesame Khug Chicken, batted fried chicken coated in sweet & spicy zhug, sesame and honey sauce, served over rice, priced at $22 as well as Buddha’s Delight, a variety of ten different vegetables cooked in soy-based broth, priced at $22. For a sweet finish, guests can opt for Apricot Rangoon, apricot & cream cheese fried wontons, served with five spice dipping sauce or the Lychee & Ginger Mahalabia, lychee pudding with candied ginger and lychee syrup, priced at $8 each.

For the perfect pairing, guests can enjoy a number of pre-selected libations including red and white wine, priced at $10 each, Goldstar Israeli Lager for $8, as well as two signature cocktails: the Jin Dynasty with gin, mint, yuzu juice, ginger syrup and soda or the Shanghai Joe with rye and malt whiskey, served on the rocks, priced at $12 each.
