Deets: The VOID and Sony Pictures Virtual Reality (SPVR) announced today Jumanji: Reverse the Curse, a one-of-a-kind, fully immersive virtual reality experience. The all-new interactive experience is available this holiday season exclusively at select VOID locations.
In advance of the upcoming film Jumanji: The Next Level, arriving in U.S. theaters December 13, the immersive experience Jumanji: Reverse the Curse will give fans the ability to truly enter another game, taking on the form of its heroes, Dr. Bravestone, Ruby Roundhouse, Professor Oberon and “Mouse” Finbar, to save Jumanji from a new dark and mysterious villain.
Jumanji: Reverse the Curse is the second title produced through the collaboration between SPVR and The VOID, which has earned a reputation as one of the most innovative pairings in the industry. The companies first teamed up to produce award winning Ghostbusters™: Dimension.
Hint for the Average Socialite: Tickets are currently available for $34.95, only running during the holiday season! It is best to go as a group, with the maximum of four per party - and of course be sure to arrive early and on time! The VR experience will last for about 30 minutes. The VOID is also located on the first level of Tyson’s Corner Center next to Coastal Flats, near Barnes & Noble and Gordon Biersch.

Guests are welcomed into the lobby, where they are to sign a waiver after checking into their time slot. You are then able to select one out of four cards, which gives hints on how the experience works before entering. There are also lockers available to store any personal belongings. The staff will take you into the briefing room. A quick one-minute video will play to give you the overall mission of the experience in order to save Jumanji. Following so, the staff will walk you through on how to suit up the gear. There is some weight to wearing the gear, so keep that in mind! Next, they will take you into the virtual reality room and that is when the mission begins!
Once you walk into the starting room, you are to stand in one corner of the room and to put on the VR headgear. The room will go dark and then you are welcomed into the Jumanji world as one of the characters from the movie. What is very helpful in how the room is setup is that in the virtual reality, if you need to hold onto the ledge to walk across, the room itself will have a ledge to make it seem more real. They also blast air as if there is actual wind in the experience to make it more fun. You are also not alone during the experience; they are watching and listening to what you are doing, and will help you when you are unsure on what to do next.
After completing the mission, you are back into the starting room and will suit down back into the main lobby space. If you have been interested in trying virtual reality, this would be an amazing experience to do! It is great to do with friends and family, so be sure to grab some tickets as it is only available for a limited time!
