Deets: Washington Nationals pitcher Gio González is pleased to announce his 3rd annual Uncork for a Cause charity event May 3, 2018, with a special event to raise awareness and funding for The Washington Nationals Dream Foundation and Hialeah Baseball, Gio’s alma mater.
Gio, his teammates and special guests will gather after the game from 6-9 pm at The Rooftop at F1RST, a stunning new private indoor/outdoor entertainment space with views into the ballpark and beyond. The evening also serves as the release party for Gio’s very own Sonoma Reserve Red Wine, available only during his event. Your admission includes food, beer and wine, plus a complimentary, limited-edition bottle of Gio’s wine, of which only one barrel was bottled for his charity program
Guests will enjoy an enticing culinary menu specially prepared by Declaration, Capitol Riverfront's coolest new restaurant, the portfolio of wines from Russian River Valley's Christopher Creek Winery, plus an auction featuring game used Nationals gear and memorabilia, local and national sports items, wine lots from some of California’s elite producers, and travel packages to Italy and California wine country.
Due to demand, all tickets are VIP this year and include a special tasting* with Far Niente, Nickel & Nickel, Bella Union and EnRoute wineries, plus a specialty craft cocktail bar provided by Jos. A. Magnus Distillery. You won't want to miss this spectacular sampling of Napa Cabernet, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Merlot and the spirits from Magnus!
The Washington Nationals Dream Foundation is committed to improving the lives of children and teens in the Washington, D.C. region by supporting initiatives focused on academics, the arts, nutrition and sports. Through the generosity of Nationals fans and corporate partners, the Dream Foundation is using the power of baseball to provide a world of opportunity for area youth.
Hialeah Baseball provides financial support and planning directly to the Hialeah High School baseball team, where Gio began his career and won two state championships. Funding supports the kids and team in many ways, including travel, field maintenance, equipment and provides opportunities on and off the field for Thoroughbreds baseball to excel. Proceeds from Gio’s 2016 and 2017 charity event provided new home and road uniforms, hats and cleats for the team, and a renovated clubhouse facility with new lockers and meeting spaces.
