Deets: More than 1,000 children and parents are expected to participate in an evening of adventure throughout the Museum at theTwenty-third Annual Family Party onWednesday, October 19.
One of the Museum’s best-loved annual traditions, the Family Party is a special opportunity for children and adults of all ages to experience the wonders of the Museum. Guests are treated to an evening of fun activities in the Museum’s magnificent halls, including interacting with live animals, digging for minerals, conducting experiments, meeting scientists, and more. Highlights include:
-The popular Museum Science Center, which showcases Museum scientists and their ongoing work through hands-on activities, live animals, extreme specimens, and scientific data and technology;
-Mission: Expedition—a new area featuring more Museum scientists who will present their findings from some of the Museum’s research expeditions, including those to Romania, Cuba, and an upcoming expedition to Seychelles (located in the Indian Ocean);
-Digging for “gems” in theTiffany & Co. Gem Dig;
-Exciting animals from LEO Zoological Conservation Center, Rainforest Reptile Shows, and A Touch of Nature with Jerry Zelenka;
-Hair styles by Cozy’s Cuts for Kids;
A chance to meet Buddyfrom The Jim Henson Company’s Dinosaur Train;
-Live performances from YaffaArts Cultural Music(Africa)and Los Habañeros(Cuba);
Stilt walkers;
-And the Cricket Cantina, where truly adventurous eaters can sample the next frontier of high-protein, sustainable cuisine: a variety of edible insects.

Proceeds from the evening support the Museum’s educational and scientific programming.
