Deets: Every year the world's top tennis players descend upon The All England Lawn Tennis Club in South West London hoping to land the game's ultimate crown.
The AELTC held the first meeting of The Lawn Tennis Championships in 1877 and Wimbledon is now widely considered as the most prestigous tennis tournament in the world.
Who You May Spot: Top female and men tennis players
Hint For The Average Socialite: There are various ways to attend the Wimbledon.
Public Ballot for UK Residents: The Public Ballot, introduced in 1924, has always been substantially oversubscribed. Entry does not automatically entitle applicants to tickets for Wimbledon, but to a place in the draw for tickets. It is not possible to request tickets for specific days or courts, as the day and court offered are chosen randomly by a computerised selection process. (Ends November 30, 2019)
Overseas Ballot: The Overseas Ballot is a lottery so there is no guarantee that your application will be successful; but, in our pursuit of greatness, we believe that every applicant should have an equal chance of success. Submissions must be received by October before the upcoming Wimbledon.
The Queue: Tickets are sold strictly on the basis of one per person queuing. A limited number of tickets are available daily for Centre Court, No.1 Court and No.2 Court, except for the last four days on Centre Court, when all are sold in advance. In addition, several thousand Grounds Passes are available each day at the turnstiles entitling use of unreserved seating and standing room on Courts No.3 - 18.
