Deets: After a two-year hiatus, Balboa Bay Resort is proud to kick off the summer season with the Newport Beach Wine & Spirits Festival over Memorial Day Weekend, May 27-29, 2022. Formerly known as the Annual Newport Beach Wine Festival, this year’s event will feature an array of wineries and distributors representing over 50 labels. Guests can sip and mingle while enjoying live music, tasty bites, and breathtaking views along the waterline.
“We’re thrilled to put on this event at Balboa Bay Resort and enhance the experience with more offerings and entertainment,” said Jason Hsieh, Food & Beverage Director at Balboa Bay Resort. “The picturesque Newport Bay will serve as a backdrop to this celebration of food and drink.”
The festival begins Friday, May 27 at 6 PM with a dinner and reception with DAOU Vineyards, the iconic Paso Robles winery known for its powerful Bordeaux varieties. An expertly curated 5-course dinner will accompany the tasting, courtesy of Balboa Bay Resort’s Executive Chef Prabeen Prathapan. This intimate dinner and reception will take place in the resort’s beloved Lighthouse Room, framed with oversized accordion glass doors that offer tranquil ocean breezes and sweeping harbor views. The outside patio area offers Adirondack chairs surrounding a firepit that overlooks the marina and harbor.
On Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29, the Newport Beach Wine & Spirits Festival will welcome over 40 wine and spirits vendors, with live music, hors d’oeuvres and stunning bay views. Participating vendors include Hampton Water, Crescere Wines, Casamigos, Spritz, Angeline Vineyards, and dozens more. The festival will be located in the resort’s Commodore Room pouring out onto the boardwalk, overlooking the marina, yachts, and Lido Island in the distance.
Ticket information for each event is available online at www.balboabayresort.com/nbwinefestival and tickets start at $125 per person (plus tax, gratuity, and fees). Combination tickets are also available for guests who desire a full weekend of wine and cuisine. The Wine & Spirits VIP Pass includes the Friday Winemaker Dinner and Saturday and Sunday at the festival; the Wine & Spirits Ticket includes Saturday and Sunday admission to the festival.
Resort guests who make a room reservation for the Wine & Spirits Festival over Memorial Day Weekend will receive 15% off guest room rates and 15% off tickets to the Newport Beach Wine & Spirits Festival. A two-night minimum stay and purchase of 2 festival tickets is required.
