Executive Chef Tony He (Sea Harbor Seafood Restaurant) is truly delighted to finally introduce Angeleno’s to Chef Tony Dim Sum, his highly acclaimed modern dim sum concept right in heart of Old Town Pasadena.

Heralded as one of Vancouver’s best elevated Chinese and dim sum restaurants, this opening will be Chef Tony Dim Sum’s second U.S. location as he opened Chef Tony Dim Sum Arcadia inside the former location of the first stateside Din Tai Fung in August 2021, and he already has three Chef Tony restaurants in Canada. Located in the historic Bear Building built in 1929 on Colorado Boulevard, this stunning 1,260 square foot restaurant showcases the historic art deco walls, red accented booths and chairs, and original opulent chandeliers beam in the main dining room with a separate cocktail bar that seats six guests at the bar and ten guests at the bar counter,

Chef Tony aims to elevate traditional dim sum, his Chef Tony Dim Sum dishes are a reflection of Guangdong Cantonese cuisine layered with refined touches and high-quality ingredients. Guests will not see rolling carts, instead all of Chef Tony’s dishes are made-to-order and include ingredients such as freshly shaved black truffles and gold leaf touches.

Chef Tony He is no stranger to the Los Angeles dining scene as he opened the beloved Sea Harbour Seafood Restaurant located in Rosemead, CA in 2003. Those familiar, will recognize some noticeable signature dishes; however, Chef Tony Dim Sum Pasadena’s menu and atmosphere is special and distinctly unique.  

The Chef Tony Dim Sum Menu offers something for everyone featuring twelve delectably delicious sections including -Starter, Dim Sum Steamed, Dim Sum Rice Noodle Roll, Dim Sum Baked and Fried, Seafood, Meat, Soup, Congee, Noodle, Rice, Vegetable, and Dessert. With every dish made-to-order fresh right out of the Chef Tony Dim Sum kitchen, Chef Tony spotlights Signature Dishes like the Sliced Chinese Broccoli with Black Truffle Sauce, Squid Ink Shrimp Dumplings with Gold Leaf, Sticky Rice Ball with Lava Salted Egg York, and while also introducing uniquely elevated dishes such as his House Special Lobster Salad, Savory Deep Fried Chinese Donut, Deep Fried Crispy King Prawn, Eggplant Stuffed with Shrimp Paste, BBQ Pork Puff Pastry Tart, Pan Fried Shrimp and Pork Pandan Bun, Roast Duck & Minced Duck Lettuce Wrap (prepared two ways and must order in advance), and Roasted Crispy Chicken with Black Truffle (must order in advance).

Desserts are a delicacy not to be missed at Chef Tony Dim Sum featuring Chef Tony’s Deep Fried Sesame Ball, Baked Milk Bun, Deep Fried Durian Pastry, Steamed Lava Salted Egg Yolk Bun with Gold Foil, Egg Custard Tart with Milk, Sticky Rice Ball Stuffed with Lava Salted Egg Yolk, Green Tea Custard, Steam Sponge Cake or his almost too cute to eat and super tasty Coconut Pudding (shaped like bunnies).

Chef Tony Dim Sum also highlights a full bar featuring Chinese spirits such as Baijiu with brands like Wuliangye and Chu Yeh Ching Chieu, Tsingtao Beer, and a selection of Wines.
