Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills is pleased to announce that Estérel has reopened with Executive Chef Fernando Bedolla at the helm. With years of experience under his belt, Bedolla has given the iconic restaurant a new menu inspired by the diverse tastes of the City of Angels.

As a child growing up in Los Angeles, Bedolla spent much of his time in the kitchen helping his mother, grandmother, and aunts cook for the family. Giving credit to the women in his family, Bedolla pursued his passion for the culinary arts and attended the International Culinary School at the Art Institute California San Diego where he simultaneously honed his skills working part-time as a line cook at Donovan’s Steak & Chop House and Stone Brewery.

After completing his studies, he made a career move to Los Angeles where he followed his dreams of becoming a celebrated chef in the hospitality industry. He secured a position for six years at Marriott International where he was able to learn the ropes and different avenues of business. During his time at Marriott, he held positions across a range of properties in the U.S., including Marina Del Rey Marriott, JW Marriott San Francisco Union Square, Westin Denver Downtown, The Peabody Memphis, Tennessee, and Hilton Little Italy San Diego.

As the new Executive Chef at Estérel, Bedolla introduces a new menu that is a true love letter to Los Angeles’ diverse cultures, tastes and influences, while being a powerful and unique blend of Bedolla’s own life and culinary path. Delicious selections that guests can choose from include Tuna Poke Tostada, Canitas Bao, Baby Romaine Fried Oysters, Pan Roasted Salmon, and the Wagyu Burger made with Truffle Cheese, Crispy Bacon, and Huckleberry Spread, to name a few.
