Deets: Carrera de los Muertos is a vibrant 5k run that honors Day of the Dead. Family and friends gather together to remember loved ones that have passed in this rich cultural tradition. The course runs through lower Chinatown and then takes a left turn onto Alameda Street towards Los Angeles State Historic Park. Traditions include face painting to resemble skulls, decorating altars with bright orange marigold flowers, candles, photos and other memorabilia. There will be an official Runners Altar for participants to decorate and a post race, finish line festival honoring art, music and community.
