Deets: Drink Company is shutting down its “Rick & Morty” pub due to a copyright dispute with Turner Broadcasting. The pop-up will be destroyed by Richmond shock rock band Gwar.

“They’re going to come in and kick some things around, and break some things, and let Gwar be Gwar,” Drink Company’s Derek Brown told Washingtonian, revealing the news that members of the band will lay waste to the “Rick & Morty” art on Thursday, September 6. That same day a section of the bar will reopen as Gwar PUB Pop-Up Bar - filled with Gwar’s heavy metal memorabilia, costumes, and themed drinks.

Hint For The Average Socialite: Open on a first-come, first-serve basis. Hours: Monday - Thursday 5PM - 12:30AM; Friday & Saturday 5PM - 1:30AM & Sunday 5PM - 12:30AM.
