BRIGHT LIGHTS, BIG ATTRACTIONS & EVEN BIGGER CELEBRITIES

Las Vegas, the city of sin, is often described as the entertainment capital of the world. It does absolutely nothing by half, instead, everything is superlative. In Vegas you will find excess wherever you go, everywhere is bright, everything is big and everything is coated with glitz.

Hotels

Sure you’ll find tacky wedding chapels and Elvis impersonators, but you can avoid them. The famous Las Vegas Strip is home to some of the grandest hotels in the United States, and even the world. The famous Caesars Palace hotel is the perfect metaphor for the excess of the city. It’s Garden of Gods is a collection of seven elegant pools, surrounded by lavish spots to enjoy the Nevada sun. Even these swimming pools demonstrate the level of grandeur in this city, spanning 4.5 acres of land.

For the more up market individuals, the Sky Villa at the Palms Casino Resort will set you back around $35,000 per night. For that, you’ll get a private glass elevator, massage rooms and five and a half bathrooms, split over your two storey suite. It also includes a private pool that is enclosed in glass, extending beyond the edge of the balcony, this allows you to view Vegas from above without having to leave the water.

Casinos

Casinos are of course one of the first things that spring to mind when you think of Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Strip has been home to games such as Roulette and Blackjack since the 1930's, with the first casino, the Pair-O-Dice Club opening in 1931. Since then the strip has developed into THE place to go for anyone interested in casino games.

One of the most popular games in Vegas casinos, Blackjack, is much older that the casino themselves. It dates back to the 18th century in French gambling halls, where it was known as Vingt-et-Un (twenty one). This old favourite is supplemented by the more modern slots, and gaming machines in every casino creating a unique balance of old and new.

The Venetian is the largest land based casino in Las Vegas, and is located on the Las Vegas Strip. Inside the casino, you’ll find more than 139 table games, slots, poker, blackjack, baccarat, and more. For those feeling flush, there is a “High-Limit Salon” and monthly no-limit Texas Hold’em tournaments.

Entertainment

When you want to take a break from the casinos, you are spoilt for choice for entertainment. As you walk the strip in search of something to do, you follow in the footsteps of some of the world’s most famous names. Penn & Teller, Prince, Celine Dion and Elvis Presley have all had long periods of performing in Vegas.

But if a show is not what you’re after, there are plenty of places along the strip where you will find celebrities hanging out. The TAO Nightclub in the Venetian is regularly graced with the presence of A-listers, including Jay-Z, Mariah Carey and Kim Kardashian.

The Nobu restaurant in Caesars Palace has celebrities coursing through its veins, it was co-founded by Robert De Niro, is named after its celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa, and has been frequented by Faith Hill, Bradley Cooper, and David and Victoria Beckham.
