Hot Spot: Los Angeles, CA

Deets: On February 24, 2018, UNICEF USA will host the annual UNICEF Next Generation Art Party in Los Angeles. The event will bring together over 800 of the city’s leading young philanthropists, art collectors and artists to celebrate UNICEF’s lifesaving work and raise funds to support vulnerable children on the move in Mexico.

The UNICEF Next Generation Art Party offers an opportunity for emerging and established artists to gain exposure and build relationships with young collectors in LA while helping UNICEF put children first. The event will feature a collection of unique artwork ranging from $100-$500, with the exception of a few rare items for the silent auction. All artwork has been selected by the event’s curatorial team, which includes artist and designer Carlton DeWoody, Jamie G. Manné, Chelsea Neman of TAPPAN, and Jessica Witkin of Moran Bondaroff Gallery.

The Art Party’s silent auction will be open to online auction house Paddle 8’s global community of art collectors and has previously included artwork by established artists such as Ed Ruscha, Larry Bell, David Benjamin Sherry, Billy Al Bengston, Alex Israel, Daniel Arsham, Sam Falls, Rob Wynne, Gray Malin, and James Franco, among others. The established artists to be featured at this year’s Art Party will be released closer to the event. In addition, the curatorial team is proud to present works by 150 exceptional emerging artists. Past artists have included Michael Wall, Satsuki Shibuya, Ali Beletic, and Andru Sisson, among others. Silent auction items will be available for bidding two weeks prior to the event, starting February 13, 2018, and during the event itself on February 24.

The event will also include live DJs, an outdoor aerial performance by aerialist Whitney Kirk, live painters, custom light projections by Oliver Bell, custom cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, desserts, a photo booth, Bead Relief bracelets, a Simply Framed custom-framing section, installation art, and UNICEF features on site, such as an Emergency Tent and School-In-A-Box.
