Deets: The Sixth Annual Gold Gala: An Evening for St. Jude took place on March 11th at the Bowery Hotel in New York City. The Gold Gala Committee is honored to announce another record-breaking year, raising $163,525 for the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The Gold Gala is a formal event where New York’s leading young philanthropists join together for an evening of generosity to celebrate and honor the lifesaving work of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Chaired by Kevin Davenport and Annabelle Devlin, the Gold Gala has been deemed one of St. Jude’s leading young professional events nationwide. Guests enjoyed an evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and dancing along with a special silent auction and raffle. Michelin Star-recipient Le District joined once again to cater the event, and Men or Myth entertained the crowd with live entertainment for the second year in a row.
Additionally, the Committee extends special thanks to the event’s contributors and corporate sponsors that help grow The Gold Gala’s commitment to St. Jude year after year. Since our inception in 2012, The Gold Gala has donated a remarkable $650,000. Each year our founding vision remains paramount: inspiring others to support St. Jude’s mission of gifting innocent children, who continue to face life threatening battles, hope for a brighter future.
“This year’s Gold Gala signifies a major milestone for our Committee. We are both elated and humbled to have exceeded our pledge to St. Jude,” said Kevin Davenport, Co-chair of The Gold Gala. “We have high aspirations for The Gold Gala’s continued growth and support of the Hospital for many years to come.”
Over the past 50 years, St. Jude has pushed the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 to 80 percent and will not stop until no child dies from cancer. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent in the next decade. St. Jude freely shares the breakthroughs we make, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
