Deets: This event marks the kickoff to Kiel Chesley's campaign, and the 10-week spirited competition to raise funds to help find a cure for blood cancers and provide access to treatments.
The National Capital Area Chapter Man & Woman of the Year Campaign will begin with a Kick Off Celebration on Thursday, March 23, 2017. The fundraising competition will culminate with a celebration of everyone's efforts at the black-tie Grand Finale Gala on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the Marriott Marquis, Washington, DC.
About LLS Man & Woman of the Year
Each year, in communities across the country, dedicated candidates engage in an exciting competition to earn The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) "Man & Woman of the Year" titles. Raising funds for LLS blood cancer research the candidates compete in honor of children who are local blood cancer survivors, the Boy & Girl of the Year.
Every dollar raised counts as one vote and the titles are awarded to the man and woman with the most votes at the end of 10 weeks. Top local fundraisers become eligible to win the national titles. More than $184 million dollars has been raised through MWOY for the LLS mission since the campaign’s inception.
