Deets: IFC’s Documentary Now! is rewriting history once again with seven all-new documentary-inspired episodes. The original comedy series, nominated for a 2016 Emmy for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series, premieres on September 14, 2016 at 10PM. Documentary Now! is co-created by Seth Meyers, Fred Armisen, Bill Hader and Rhys Thomas.
Debuting last summer to strong critical acclaim, Documentary Now! quickly became a fan favorite thanks to its insightful comedic take on the most well-known documentary films. Each episode, delightfully hosted by Dame Helen Mirren, stars Armisen and Hader lovingly paying homage to a specific documentary and sharing a captivating (if completely untrue) story inspired by these timeless films. Season 2 will offer an array of acclaimed guest stars including Anne Hathaway, Mia Farrow, Peter Bogdanovich, Peter Fonda and Maya Rudolph.
Documentary Now! is created and executive produced by Armisen, Hader, Meyers, and Thomas, who serves as the show’s director alongside Alex Buono. Produced by Broadway Video, the show is also executive produced by Buono, Lorne Michaels and Broadway Video’s Andrew Singer. John Mulaney (Mulaney, SNL) serves as co-executive producer and Erik Kenward (SNL) is consulting producer.
