Deets: The New York Comedy Festival (NYCF), presented in association with Comedy Central, today announced the talented line-up of comedians who will make New York laugh when the festival runs from November 1 – 6. For six days, over 200 comedians will perform in more than 60 shows across all five boroughs at some of New York City’s most prestigious venues.
Among those who will headline the 13th annual festival are Tracy Morgan, Marc Maron and Tig Notaro, all performing at Carnegie Hall; Dane Cook, Chris D’Elia, Trevor Noah, Patton Oswalt and Tim Minchin, all at the Beacon Theater; Bill Maher at The Theater at Madison Square Garden; Bridget Everett and T.J. Miller at Town Hall; Eric André, who will take the stage at Carolines on Broadway for a four-night engagement; and Cameron Esposito performs at NYU Skirball Center.
Additional festival shows will be announced in the fall.
“We’re thrilled to have such an amazing group of talented comedians this year,” said Caroline Hirsch, founder and owner of the New York Comedy Festival and Carolines on Broadway. “The festival continues to present the performers at the forefront of comedy, while giving audiences an opportunity to enjoy these great artists in many of the city’s most iconic venues; and with the presidential election taking place the week after the festival, I’m sure there will be no shortage of hilarious commentary on all of the political happenings.”
“I’m very excited about returning to the New York Comedy Festival this year,” says Tracy Morgan. “I can’t wait to get on stage at the legendary Carnegie Hall to perform in front of my family, my friends and my home town fans.”
“New York City is the apex of comedy, from up and coming talent to the comedy elite, it is the place to perform,” said Jonas Larsen, Senior Vice President, Talent & Specials, Comedy Central. “The New York Comedy Festival is a celebration of the best in comedy and Comedy Central is proud to be a part of it again.”
Every year the New York Comedy Festival brings the who’s who in comedy together, giving audiences the opportunity to see some of the comedy industry’s biggest stars. Past festivals have included Aziz Ansari, Hannibal Buress, Bill Burr, Louis C.K., Billy Crystal, Whitney Cummings, Larry David, Jim Gaffigan, Ricky Gervais, Kathy Griffin, Kevin Hart, Joel McHale, Andy Samberg, Amy Schumer and Sarah Silverman among others. The NYCF has also focused on highlighting the behind-the-scenes creative process by producing informative and entertaining panels, some including “Id Isn’t Always Pretty: An Evening with Broad City,” “A Sit-Down with The Tonight Show Writers,” “Clown Panties and Other Unpleasant Truths: An Evening with Inside Amy Schumer,” and “Keepin’ It 100: An Evening with Larry Wilmore & the Creative Team of The Nightly Show.”
