Deets: On Tuesday, July 19th, join six top DC chefs for Chefs Behind Bars, a cocktail event to benefit No Kid Hungry's work to end childhood hunger in America. From 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Washingtonians can enjoy signature drinks concocted by the city's most renowned talent held at the DNV Rooftop.

All proceeds from the event go towards helping No Kid Hungry make sure all kids have the healthy food they need, every day. At the end of the evening, Judges' Choice and People's Choice winners will be chosen as reigning Chefs Behind Bars!

About No Kid Hungry

Nearly 16 million children in the United States face the poverty of hunger every day because they don’t get enough food to eat. No Kid Hungry connects kids in need with nutritious food and teaches their families how to cook healthy, affordable meals. The campaign also engages the public to make ending child hunger a national priority.

This work is accomplished through the No Kid Hungry network, consisting of private citizens, government officials, business leaders, and others that work together to develop innovative solutions that endeavor to end childhood hunger in their communities.

Through its Cooking Matters program, the No Kid Hungry campaign educates and empowers low-income families to stretch their food budgets so their kids get healthy meals at home. Cooking Matters participants learn to shop strategically, use nutrition information to make healthier food choices, and cook delicious, affordable meals.
