Deets: In his first full-scale film role since Funny Bones (1995), Jerry Lewis plays Max Rose, a former jazz pianist facing life in his late 80s after the passing of his beloved wife (played in flashbacks by Claire Bloom). Writer-director Daniel Noah frames Lewis’s controlled, resonant performance within a compact, visually expressive film that finds hope in the most despairing of contexts.
