THE FOUNDERS:

Jane Wurwand, founder of global skincare brand Dermalogica.

In 1983, Jane moved to the US in pursuit of the American dream with just a suitcase and beauty school diploma. Soon after she arrived, Jane saw a gap in the training of licensed skincare professionals. As a result, she launched The International Dermal Institute, which became the gold standard in postgraduate skin therapy education and today trains more than 100,000 skin therapists every year in 38 locations around the world. And this is just the prequel to Jane’s entrepreneurial journey; she went on to cofound cult skincare brand Dermalogica in 1986.

An innovative business leader and visionary, Jane was able to scale her business without the help of any outside funding. Today, Dermalogica products are loved for everything they don’t contain (harsh irritants including lanolin, mineral oil, S.D. alcohol, artificial fragrances or color) and are the number-one choice of professional skin therapists in more than 80 countries worldwide.

Lorna Jane Clarkson, founder of cult activewear brand Lorna Jane

You don’t need to be a fitness fanatic to know Lorna Jane Clarkson; her global brand is synonymous with the very best activewear, and her personal Active Living philosophy is embraced by women all over the world.

The Lorna Jane story began just over 25 years ago. Lorna was tired of the dull activewear available for women, so she took matters into her own hands and started sewing her own outfits while working as a fitness instructor. She opened her first in 1990. Today, Lorna Jane has more than 190 stores globally, is stocked in 54 countries, and her personal Active Living philosophy has amassed a cult following all over the world and inspired millions of women to improve their health and wellbeing.

Emma Isaacs, Global CEO and Founder of Business Chicks

Emma is the Global CEO of Business Chicks, the pre-eminent networking community for women and is a serial entrepreneur having never worked for anyone else. She started her first company at the age of 18, successfully exiting seven years later and collecting a swag of awards along the way.

At 25 Emma began working on Business Chicks and grew it into the largest network for women in Australia with over 37,000 members before relocating to the US last month to scale the organization in North America.

Emma is a past President of the Entrepreneurs Organization, a regular media commentator and weekly presenter on The Today Show, has now raised over $15million for charities and is a mother to four children under the age of six.
