LIFT works to break the cycle of poverty for families with children. Families striving for a better economic future need the same types of support we all need in moments of crisis-economic resources, confidence, and social connections-to move off of shaky ground and get ahead. Operating offices in high need communities in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and Washington, DC; LIFT employs a powerful neighbor-to- neighbor volunteer model to support people working to secure a decent job, safe housing, the education they need to advance, or critical social services. Every member gets a team of Advocates who stick with them every step of the way during their journey with LIFT. Advocates are rigorously-trained partners and problem solvers who work side by side to set goals, and make connections to resources to move members'lives forward.
"Poverty is complicated, getting help shouldn't have to be." - Musician, songwriter and LIFT Board Member, Ben Harper
