Deets: The 13th annual Fashion Funds the Cure sponsored by Mercedes- Benz will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at the Port Tampa Bay Terminal 2. It will be a celebration of incomparable strength and courage as girls and boys battling cancer make their debut on the runway escorted by celebrities. Guests will enjoy fine wines and delicacies from top area restaurants while raising funds for critical pediatric cancer research.
We are also thrilled to announce this year’s celebrity emcee, Giuliana Rancic! Giuliana is an entertainment journalist, fashion and beauty expert and television personality with over 2 million followers on Twitter! She will bring her fashion insight to the runway while hosting an unforgettable evening dedicated to children battling cancer.
Fashion Funds the Cure is a fashion show unlike any other. It is an inspirational and entertaining evening as children battling cancer make their debut on the runway escorted by celebrities including players from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Tampa Bay Rays. In 12 years since the Pediatric Cancer Foundation asked cancer patients to be in the fashion show, $3.65 million has been raised for clinical trials and research, including $450,000 from the 2014 Fashion Funds the Cure Show.
In addition to the inspiring fashion show, guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres from top area restaurants. Participating restaurants include Ava, 717 South, Besito Mexican, Bonefish, Brew Bus, Carmel Kitchen and Wine Bar, Cakes by Nikki, Cena, Chic Sweets, Commune + Co., Del Frisco’s, Irish 31, Malio’s Prime, Rooster and the Till, Salt Block Catering and Toffee to Go.
Leading up to the fashion show, The Day of Pampering for the models will take place at The Florida Aquarium on April 3. The day will include a fitting at Dillard’s, penguin sightings, feedings and a tour of the SS American Victory Ship. Media is welcome (contact Molly to be added to the media list).
