Deets: On Monday, May 18 at the iconic symbol of Texas State pride, the Alamo, HISTORY hosted an exclusive preview of epic ten-part event series Texas Rising (premiering Memorial Day, May 25, 2015 at 9 PM ET/PT).
From the Emmy Award®-winning team behind record-breaking HISTORY miniseries Hatfields & McCoys, Texas Rising takes place in the immediate aftermath of the Battle of the Alamo and chronicles the Texas Revolution and the formation of the Texas Rangers.
A clip from the miniseries was previewed before an audience of Texas greats as part of “Texas Honors,” a star-studded evening in partnership with Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush. The event will kick off fundraising efforts for the Alamo Endowment, honor the State’s great history and recognize an elite group of Texas legends, humanitarians, athletes, artists and entrepreneurs.

Hint For The Average Socialite: On May 18, at 10PM ET/PT, Ray Liotta narrates a one-hour special on HISTORY, presenting in-depth the events preceding and surrounding the defense of the Alamo and its legacy – including its impact on the outcome of the Texas Revolution and why it remains significant today. The documentary serves as a precursor to “Texas Rising”, which premieres on Memorial Day.
Texas Rising, which will air on History in the U.S., is set for TV conference MipTV in Cannes as its World Premiere TV Screening. The first episode will be screened in Cannes’ Palais des Festivals on April 13, and key cast and the creators will walk the red carpet for MipTV’s opening party.
