Deets: The Screen Actors Guild Foundation Los Angeles Golf Classic is a major annual fundraiser benefiting the SAG Foundation’s Catastrophic Health Fund and Assistance Programs for SAG-AFTRA performers and their dependents. Since 2010, the SAG Foundation has raised over $1.5 million for performers facing life-threatening illness and severe economic hardship with the support of the entertainment community and generous sponsors.
Since 1985, the SAG Foundation has granted more than $17 million in financial and medical assistance including $6 million in scholarships to SAG-AFTRA members and their dependents. In addition, the Foundation has offered 4800 free educational workshops, panels and screenings to union performers nationwide and its children’s literacy programs have brought the love of reading to more than 65 million children worldwide.
The 6th Annual Los Angeles Golf Classic, presented by Integrated Wealth Management, will be hosted by Scott Wolf (Perception, Party of Five) and Brendan Fehr (Roswell, CSI:Miami), who both currently star in NBC’s The Night Shift, on June 8, 2015 in Burbank, CA. Additional major sponsors included United Airlines, the Carson Foundation and Fairway & Greene.
“As actors, we are acutely aware of how vulnerable all performers are in this tumultuous business. And when crises do arise, the SAG Foundation is there to provide the necessary help with its Catastrophic Health Fund and Emergency Assistance Programs. This year, we are proud to host the L.A. Golf Classic and support the Foundation and its programs that have stood by our fellow performers for thirty years,” said Wolf and Fehr. “Raising awareness and money for such a great cause by playing a game we love is definitely a ‘win-win.’”
“2015 marks an exciting time for the SAG Foundation as we celebrate 30 years of giving back, not only to our entertainment community of SAG-AFTRA members, but to a national and international audience of children, parents, and teachers who participate in our children’s literacy programs,” said SAG Foundation President JoBeth Williams. “It is fantastic to have Scott and Brendan’s support in hosting our annual fundraiser and highlighting our cause.”
The host committee of the 6th Annual L.A.
