Deets: The International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC), a non-profit organization working to empower and equip global partners to protect children from sexual abuse, exploitation and abduction, hosted the inaugural Gala for Child Protection on Thursday, May 7 at 6 p.m. at Gotham Hall in New York City. The debut gala honored Jeff and Justine Koons, internationally-celebrated American artists and avid philanthropists, and Microsoft, one of the most influential technology corporations leading its industry with innovative child-protection efforts. Ashton Kutcher, actor and co-founder of Thorn: Digital Defenders of Children, presented a special tribute to ICMEC’s founding CEO Ernie Allen. CBS News anchor Norah O’Donnell served as host for the evening. Former Chairman of Roche Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Franz Humer, was chair for the night’s festivities.
